Roadmap to Peace or Roadmap to Destruction?

By John Roberts, March 16, 2003

What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?

This Roadmap for Peace has very significant prophetic implications.   According to prophecy the seven year tribulation period preceding the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be kicked off with a treaty between Israel and the Arabs.   And that treaty will be instigated by the Antichrist.

I am not suggesting that this current proposal is the treaty mentioned by the prophet Daniel but it should nevertheless be taken seriously.

It is important to note that what ever is going on in the world today the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian crisis ultimately rises back to the top of the pile of unresolved issues the world wants to fix.

Personally I don’t understand why any Christian would want to participate in a process that ultimately leads to the dividing up of the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, and the land of Israel.   God promised all that land to the Jews and it is clearly against His will to give Israeli land to the Palestinians.

Politicians seldom do the “right thing” today because they are more interested in sticking with the “popular thing” so they can get reelected.   But I have the luxury and obligation of saying the truth on the last days homepage.   And the truth is there will never be a lasting peace in the Middle East or anywhere else on earth until our Lord is ruling from Jerusalem.

Daniel 9:27 clearly says that the Antichrist will break a seven year treaty with Israel after only 42 months.   Then all hell is going to break loose on earth, literally!

A few key milestones on God’s prophetic timeline include:

1.   A falling away of the church (already started)
2.   The rise of the European Union as the world power (already started)
3.   The Rapture
4.   The rise of the Antichrist and False Prophet
5.   Then a Peace Treaty in the Middle East
6.   The building of a new Temple on the Mount
7.   The treaty is broken and the Beast sets up his image in the Temple
8.   The armies of the world gather to attack Jerusalem and Christ
9.   Christ returns, defeats the armies, and chains Satan

After this we will have a thousand years of peace on earth.

So, if world leaders are serious about this Roadmap to Peace which divides Jerusalem in 2005, then we may be closer than people think to the Rapture and the rise of the Antichrist.
