The Code of Codes Has Been Cracked

What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?
The Lord gave us many signs so that we may know the time of the end. One prophecy is that knowledge will increase.
Daniel 12:4
"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
The secrets of the human genome have always been regarded as the code of codes. Now two teams of scientists have successfully deciphered the code.
So in addition to being able to clone a human, scientists will be able to alter the genes to create a new creature, without mutations and inherited disease. But will this creature be complete? Will it have a soul?
No one can deny that the cracking of the human genome code is a literal fulfillment of the above noted prophecy found in Daniel.
I pray science uses this information for the good of mankind. But I am not hopeful. Science does not have a good track record. And the issue here is not just that knowledge is increasing. The rate at which knowledge is increasing is also speeding up.
Think about it, less than 150 years ago men were shooting muskets at each other. And these could barely hit the side of a barn when fired from over a 100 yards away. Today we are only one button push away from launching thousands of nuclear-armed missiles that could destroy the whole planet many times over.
Some call that progress. But for me it just brings to mind another gem of wisdom from scripture:
2 Timothy 3:7
"Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
