Evidence Of Jesus Written In Jerusalem Stone

By John Roberts, March 13, 2003

What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?

One of the signs that we are in the last days is the unrelenting attack upon the Word of God.   Blasphemers inside and outside the church are attempting to characterize the Holy Bible as “a collection of fictional books that contain stories intended to teach a few common truths; but it should not be taken as non-fiction.”

Discrediting the authenticity and historical accuracy of scripture allows people to twist scripture into what ever they want it to say.   And the first argument scientists throw out against Christianity, intelligent design, and the use of the Bible as history has always been their claim that the Bible is fiction.   Many even say that Jesus did not really exist.   Others try to recreate a perverted historical view of Jesus that is totally contrary to that given in scripture.

That is why the discovery of the James’ ossuary with the inscription “James, Son of Joseph, Brother of Jesus” is so important.   These bone boxes were part of a burial process that was only practiced before 70 A.D. during the time of Christ.   And the reference to Joseph and Jesus makes it clear that this James was the brother of our Lord.   The evidence for Jesus Christ is literally written in Jerusalem stone.   And scientists in Israel have validated the authenticity of the ossuary and its inscription referencing Jesus.

Matthew 13:54-57

54     And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
55     Is not this the carpenter's son?   is not his mother called Mary?   and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56     And his sisters, are they not all with us?   Whence then hath this man all these things?
57     And they were offended in him.   But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Galations 18-20

18     Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.
19     But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.
20     Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

What does all this prove?   Well, it proves that references to James and Jesus in scripture are not just nice stories as some suggest, but rather historically accurate testaments to fact and not fiction.   The critical statements made by some scientists against the Holy Bible have once again been proven false by real archaeology and real science.

The next time you hear someone say, “Jesus did not exist and the Bible is fiction,” you can point them to the James’ ossuary inscription and say, “read it and weep, then repent!”
