What is the significance and relevance of this story to last days prophecy?

No one expected the European Union to actually work.  Even the Europeans didn’t give it much of a chance for success.  And here we stand today at the edge of the fulfillment of one of the most significant prophecies in scripture.  Without a doubt the European Union is the revived Roman Empire, the kingdom of the Beast, the seventh and last Gentile kingdom mentioned in prophecy.

The spirit of antichrist is clearly visible everywhere in Europe.   Most Europeans profess to believe in God.   Yet their actions lead me to ask, what god do they worship?

Scandinavia is a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.   France has become a socialist cesspool of immorality.   Germany is as anti-Semitic today as it was under Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.   Prince Charles, the future King of England, worships a god unknown to his father.   The Pope in Rome defends his pervert priests and Sadam in Iraq while speaking evil of President Bush, the only world leader that openly professes his faith in Christ.   Representatives of the Anglican, Protestant, and Orthodox churches also support Sadam while bashing the United States.

Despite their national pride these countries have all banded together with one currency, one court of justice, over two million laws, a common desire to bring down the United States, and soon a new pair of leaders.   To any student of prophecy this is alarming.   Because scripture tells us that two world leaders will play major roles in the last days, the False Prophet and the Antichrist.

The recent despicable actions of Chirac "Iraq" as he is known in France, and Schroder of Germany, traveling here and there like bar flies trying to undermine and back stab the United States are a picture of what things will be like under the reign of the Antichrist.

The truth is France, Germany, and many other countries in the EU are on the wrong side of almost every issue.  A quick look at what Europeans are for and against tells the story.   They are pro abortion, pro homosexuality, pro Islam, pro Iraq, pro Palestinian, and they show compassion for terrorists, rapists, murders, and pedophiles.   Conversely the European Union is anti-family, anti-Christian, anti-American, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and against capital punishment.

It is true that every generation for the past two-thousand years has believed that they were living in the last days.   But it has only been in our generation that we have seen the fulfillment of prophecy which the Lord and Apostles said were a prerequisite for the Day of the Lord.

The Church is falling away from the gospel.   Mystery Babylon sits on the seven hills of Rome.   There are riots, wars and rumors of wars, violence, and perversion in every part of the globe.   Israel is a nation again.   The Revived Roman Empire has risen in Europe.   And Jerusalem has become a stumbling block for all nations.

Next on God’s prophetic schedule is the Rapture, which will be followed by the appearance of the Antichrist and False Prophet.  

A dual presidency and new constitution proposed by France and Germany for the EU, combined with their relentless attacks against our Christian President Bush and Christian nation are signs of just how close we are to the rapture and rise of the Antichrist and False Prophet.
